★ Let a = 13 cm, b = 14cm, and third side = c cm,

Semiperimeter is half of perimeter and is given by,

s \:  =   \frac{a + b + c}{2}

18 =  \frac{13 + 14 + c}{2}

c \:  = 36 - 27

 = c \:  = 9 \: cm

Given:-

❍ Two sides of triangle = 13 cm & 14 cm

❍ Semi perimeter = 18 cm

To find:-

❍ Third side of the triangle

Required Solution:-

\longrightarrow Semi perimeter is 18 cm.

\longrightarrow Total Perimeter = \sf{18\:×\:2\;=\;36}

Let the third side be x.

Sum of 2 sides of the triangle =

\longrightarrow(13 + 4)cm = 27 cm

\longrightarrow 27 + x = 36

\longrightarrow x = 36 - 27 = 9

Therefore,

❍ The third side of the triangle is 9 cm.
