Buoyant force is a force exerted by liquid to an object of lighter weight in a water body. when we place a paper on a water the paper floats because the paper has lighter mass of the two, but when we place a stone on water, It sinks because it has greater mass. The buoyant force is like gravity but it is opposite, gravity force pulls an object down but buoyant force pushes an object upwards.
