INTRIDUCTION

Overloading of electric circuit means that current circulating in the circuit become more tgan the capacity of component in the circuit to withstand the current.

All component of circuit has some resistance passage of electricity through this resistance produce heat which is directly proportional to the square of current flow.

The component are designed to withstand only that much of heat as is generated by maximum designed current. When the circuit is more than the level or in other words when the circuit is overloaded the component get over heated leading to their damage.

CAUSES

If the current draw by many electrical appliances to

the single socked exceed the current rating of the wire , the entire circuit or part of circuit can get heated and can cause fire. It is due to :

Accidental hike in supply voltage.

Connecting too many aapliance to a socket.

Damage in the insulation of wire.

Some fault in aapliances.

PRECAUTIONS

The precautions should be taken to avoide overloading.

Too many aapliance should not be connected to single socket.

Faultly appliance should not be connected.
