then

TanA = h/x

or, h = xTanA

now angle of elevation is doubled i.e. from A to 2A

let height be h'

Tan2A = h'/x

or, h' = xTan2A

Now,

h'/h = xTan2A/xTanA

= Tan2A/TanA

= 2TanA/(1-Tan^2A)*TanA

= 2/(1 - Tan^2A)

1-tan^2A < 1 for 0<A<90

hence h' > 2h

thus, if angle of elevation is doubled, the height will increase more than twice.
