in our constitution , there are three types of lists-

  1. union list
  2. state list
  3. concurrent list.

some subject came after the constitution was amended. so they are listed under residuary subjects .

lists are divided into the categories so that government can work accordingly on them and there could not be any clash . Union list is under the national government. state list is under state government . concurrent list is under both the governments .
