6.While catching a ball, the cricketer withdraws his hands. Does this reduce the change of

we know according to Newton's second law of motion force is proportional to the rate of change of momentum

F proportional to Dp/Dt.

when the cricketer pulls his hand backward the time taken to stop the ball increases . this decreases the force which is applied to his hand by the ball therefore he does not get hurt.

Yes, as the hand of the cricketer comes in the path of the ball hence the ball stops hence momentum of the ball gets diaturbed
