The Knights were contacted with lords, thereafter they linked to kings too.

• The lord gave them a piece of land called fief, and promised them to protect it in every way.

Fief- The fied could be inherited from anywhere. It included house for knights and there family, a church and other establishments were depend on them. The fief could be extended from 1000-2000 acres or more.

• The Knight's land(fief) were cultivated by peasants. In exchange, they payed a regular fee to lords, and promised to fight for him in wars whenever needed.
