The word 'Phanerogamae' came from two Greek words Phanero means visible and gamae means marriage. Plant bodies under the sub kingdom phaneogame have visible reproductive organs therefore they have seeds , flowers e.t.c. Angiosperm are called phaneogame because their reproductive organs i.e. flowers are visible and Gymnosperms' reproductive organs i.e. cones are also visible.
