Step-by-step explanation:

Let present age of Mr. Raju be X

and of his son be y

six years ago Mr. Raju's age was (x-6) years

and of his son was (y-6) years

According to the question

x-6 = (y-6) × 3

x-6 = 3y-18

x-3y = -12 .....(I)

and

after 6 years their ages be x+ 6 & y+6

x+6 = (y+6) × 2

x +6 = 2y + 12

x. = 2y + 6

putting in (l)

2y +6 -3y = -12

-y = -12-6

y. = 18 years

x = 42 years
