multiply EQ.(1) by 4 and eq. (2) by 3

12X + 8Y = 444 ......(3)

12X + 15Y = 570 .......(4)

Subsracting EQ. (3) from (4)

12X + 15Y - 12X - 8Y = 570 - 444

7Y = 126

Y = 126/7

Y= ₹18

putting this value of Y in EQ. (1)

3X + 2Y = 111

3X + 2(18) = 111

3X + 36 = 111

3X = 111-36

3X = 75
