Given :-

• Mass of bullet = 60g = 60/1000 = 0.06kg
• Mass of gun = 5kg
• Speed of bullet = 5m/s

To Find :-

• The gun recoil.

Solution :-

According to the law of conversation of momentum.

.°. Momentum of bullet = momentum of gun

=> mass of bullet × velocity of bullet = mass of the gun × recoil of gun.

=> 0.06 × 5 = 5 × v

=> 0.3 = 5 × v

=> v = 0.3/5

=> v = 0.06 m/s .

Therefore, The gun recoil is 0.06m/s .
