Answer: 6 Litres

Step-by-step explanation:

Ratio of sugar and water = 2:3

Let amount of sugar be  2x and amount of water be 3x respectively .

Then 2x + 3x = 60

⇒ 5x = 60

⇒ x = 12 L

∴ Amount of sugar = 2x = 24 L

Amount of water = 3x = 36 L

Now , let k Litres of sugar is replaced by water to make the ratio 1:1

Then , amount of sugar = (24 + k) L

Amount of water = (36 - k)L

∴ (24 + k):(36 - k) = 1:1

Which means 24 + k = 36 - k

⇒ 2k = 12

⇒ k = 6

∴ 6 L of water is being replaced by 6 L sugar to make the ratio 1:1 .
