60% : 800 ÷ 100 = 8 (1 %)

8 × 60 =480 (60 %)

So 480 students are girls, the rest of the students should be a boy.

800 — 480 = 320

320 student are boys. (aka 40 %)

You can also calculate what 40 % is, because 60% is girls out of 100%

100% - 60% = 40% (is a boy)

So 800 ÷ 100 = 8 (1%)

8 × 40 = 320
