Given :   John, Jeena and Junaid enter into a bus.

6 seats are vacant,

To Find : the number of ways they can occupy the seats

A. 30 B. 60 C. 120 D. 360

Solution:

Number of seats = 6

Persons = 3

Here order of arrangement matters Hence  permutation to be used

so number of ways = ⁶P₃

= 6!/3!

= 6 * 5 * 4

= 120

Another way

first person can sit in 6 ways

2nd person can sit in 5 ways

3rd person can sit in 4 ways

Hence total ways = 6 * 5 * 4 = 120
