If 63/4 means six and three quarters, then the answer is: just under one litre, or, to be more precise, 27/28 of a litre, or 0.964285714285714 litre.

One way of getting there is to convert 6 3/4 to 27/4, and then multiply by 1/7.

(The answer assumes that the “small containers” are sufficiently large to hold 27/28 litre. Otherwise, the correct answer is: Whatever the small containers are capable of holding....)

63/4 litre of milk

7 small containers

Milk in each container = 63/4 ÷ 7

= 63/28 litre

i.e 2.5 litre each
