Solution:

Samar can read 600 pages in 6 hours

=>  Samar can read in  1 hr    =  600/6 = 100 pages

Samar and Priti together can read 5000 pages in 40 hours.

=>  Samar and Priti together can read  in  1 hr  = 5000/40

= 125 pages

Priti  can read in  1 hr   = 125 - 100 = 25 Pages

Priti can read in N hrs  = 25N  pages

25N  = 500

=> N = 20

Priti can read  500 pages in 20 hrs
