Let say 4 odd  successive numbers are

2x-3 , 2x - 1 , 2x + 1 , 2x + 3

Sum = 2x - 3 + 2x - 1 + 2x + 1 + 2x + 3  = 8x

Average = 8x/4 = 2x

2x =  34

=> x = 17

2x-3 , 2x - 1 , 2x + 1 , 2x + 3
