[ REFER TO THE ATTACHMENT ]

Here, is a rectangle ABCD in witch breadth and diagonal are given

  • AB breadth = 9cm
  • AC diagonal = 41cm

As we know that

All angles of a rectangle are right angles i.e. 90°

So,

AC² = AB² + BC² [ Pythagoras theorem ]

Now,

→ AC² = AB² + BC²

→ (41)² = (9)² + BC²

→ BC² = (41)² - (9)²

→ BC² = 1681 - 81

→ BC² = 1600

→ BC = √1600

→ BC = 40cm

Therefore length of the rectangle BC = 40cm

As we know that

Perimeter of a rectangle = 2 (l + b)

Put the values in the formula

Now,

→ Perimeter of the rectangle = 2 (l + b)

→ Perimeter of the rectangle = 2 (40 + 9)

→ Perimeter of the rectangle = 2 × 49

→ Perimeter of the rectangle = 98cm

Hence, the perimeter of the rectangle is 98cm.
