Let, the breadth of the rectangle be, 'x'

As per the question, the length of the rectangle is thrice of the breadth.

So, the length of the rectangle is = (x*3)

                                                       = 3x

Perimeter of rectangle = 2(length+breadth)

∴ Perimeter of the rectangle = 2(3x+x)

                                               = 2*4x

                                               = 8x

∴ According to the problem,

8x = 120

⇒ x = 120/8

⇒ x = 15 cm

∴ The breadth of the rectangle is 15 cm

∴ The length o the rectangle is = (15*3)

                                                   = 45 cm.

Step-by-step explanation:

Let, the breadth of the rectangle be, 'x'

As per the question, the length of the rectangle is thrice of the breadth.

So, the length of the rectangle is = (x*3)

                                                       = 3x

Perimeter of rectangle = 2(length+breadth)

∴ Perimeter of the rectangle = 2(3x+x)

                                               = 2*4x

                                               = 8x

∴ According to the problem,

8x = 120

⇒ x = 120/8

⇒ x = 15 cm

∴ The breadth of the rectangle is 15 cm

∴ The length o the rectangle is = (15*3)

                                                   = 45 cm.
