68/34 = 2
in this mixture ,
27*2 kg = 54 kg = milk
7*2 kg = 14 kg = water

to be 3:1

if we think 3= 27
1 should be = 9

7+2 = 9

9*2 = 18
water we should add = 18 kg

Answer:

4 litre

Step-by-step explanation:

68 litre of mixture contains milk and water in the ratio 27 : 7

i.e 54 litre milk and 14 litre water

X litre of water is added to get new mixture in ratio 3:1

milk/water = 15/14+x = 3/1

54 = 42+3x

X = 4 litre

(or)

54:14

To get new mixture we only add water. So milk is 54 in final solution also.

54/3 * 1 = 18 litre

Hence water in final solution = 18 litre

water added = 18 - 14 = 4 litre
