Given :- 696 students are to be sitting in a hall in such a way that each row contains as many students as the number of rows.

To Find :- How many rows will be there if 20 students were left after the arrangement ?

Solution :-

→ Total students sitting in hall = 696

→ Students left after the arrangment = 20

So,

→ Total students sitting in all rows = 696 - 20 = 676

now, let us assume that, there are x students sitting in each row .

then,

→ Total students in each row = x

and,

→ Total number of rows = Total students in each row = x

therefore,

→ Total students sitting in all rows = Total students in each row × Total number of rows

→ 696 = x * x

→ x² = 696

→ x² = 2 * 2 * 13 * 13

→ x² = 2² * 13²

→ x² = (2 * 13)²

→ x² = 26²

→ x = 26

hence,

→ Total number of rows = x = 26 (Ans.)

There will be 26 rows in the hall .
