Given : A group of 8 friends travels to the airport in two taxis , Each taxi can take 4 passengers. Jon and Sarah travelling in the same taxi.

To find : the number of different ways in which they can travel to airport

Solution:

Total Friends = 8

Jon and Sarah traveling in the same taxi.

so we have  6 friends left

out of these 6 friends 4 friend will be travelling in one taxi

Hence 4 friends out of  6 friends can be selected in ⁶C₄ ways = 15 ways

and these 4 friend can travel in either taxi hence in 2 ways

Total Number of Ways = 15 * 2 = 30

in 30 Ways they can travel to Airport Such that Jon and Sarah travelling in the same taxi
