Answer:

x = -(2/3) and y = 2

Step-by-step explanation:

6x-3x = -10 ...(1)

3x+5y-8 = 0

∴3x+5y = 8 ...(2)

For equation (1), a1 = 6, b1 = -3, c1 = -10 and for equation (2), a2 = 3, b2 = 5, c2 = 8

D =6×5-(-3)×3

= 30+9 = 39

Dx = (-10) ×5-(-3) ×8

= -50+24 = -26

Dy = 6×8-(-10) ×3

= 48+30=78

By Cramer's rule,

x = Dx/D

= -26/39

= (-2/3)

y = Dy/D

= 78/39

= 2

∴ x = -(2/3) and y = 2 is the solution if the given simultaneous equation.
