6x - 3y = - 10 .......eq (i)

3x + 5y = 8 ....... multiplying the whole eq with 2 .....then the equation becomes...

=( 3 x + 5y = 8 )×2

= 6x + 10y = 16 ........eq (ii)

subtracting eq (ii) from eq(i)

6x + 10y = 16

6x - 3y = 8

_________

0 +13y = 8

_________

y = 8/13

then eq(i) becomes .....

6x - 3 × (8/13) = -10

6x - 24/13 = -10

6x = -10 + 24/13

6x = ( -130 +24 )/13

6x = (-106)/13

x = -106/78

x = -53/39

HENCE THE VALUE OF X AND Y ARE -53/39 AND 8/13 RESPECTIVELY
