Answer:

Given:  6x - 4y = -12                             ...(i)

            8x - 3y = -2                              ...(ii)

now by solving these equations by elimination method,

            6x - 4y = -12                             × 3

            8x - 3y = -2                               × 4

and,

⇒           18x - 12y = - 36

               32x - 12y = -8

          -           +          +

______________________

            - 14x     =   - 28

                  x    =   2

now putting the value of x in eq (i)

            6x - 4y = -12

⇒                -4y = -12 - 6x

⇒               - 4y = -12 - 6(2)

⇒                   y = -24/ -4

∴                  y = 6

∴  So the value of x and y are 2 and 6 respectively.
