ANSWER :

  • Value of x is 23/14

GIVEN :

 \implies \dfrac{6x - 5}{2x + 4}  =  \dfrac{2}{3}

TO FIND :

  • Value of x.

SOLUTION :

   \implies \dfrac{6x - 5}{2x + 4}  =  \dfrac{2}{3}   \\    \:  \implies \: 3(6x - 5) = 2(2x + 4) \\  \implies \: 18x - 15 = 4x + 8 \\  \implies \: 14x = 23 \\  \implies \: x \:   =  \dfrac{23}{14}

Proof:

lhs \:  \\  =  \dfrac{6( \dfrac{23}{14}) - 5 }{2( \dfrac{23}{14} ) + 4}  \\  \\  =  \frac{ \dfrac{69}{7} - 5 }{ \dfrac{23}{7}  + 4}  \\  \\   = \dfrac{ \dfrac{34}{7} }{ \dfrac{51}{7} } \\  \\  =  \dfrac{2}{3}

LHS = RHS
