solution:

6x+y=6 ------(i)

x+2y=6------(ii)

equation (ii) subtacted from (i)

6x+y=6

- x-2y=-6

_________

5x-y=0

5x=y

x=y/5---------(iii)

substitute (iii) in (i)

6(y/5)+y=6

6y/5+y=6

(6y/5)+(5y/5)=6

(6y+5y)/5=6

6y+5y=6X5

11y=30

y=30/11 --------i(v)

substitute (iv) in (ii)

x+2(30/11)=6

x+(60/11)=6

( 11x/11)+(60/11)=6

(11x+60)/11=6

11x+60=6X11

11x+60=66

11x=66-60

11x=6

x=6/11
