  • As per the data given in the question, we have to find the value of the expression.

           Given data:- \frac{7}{1} +\frac{4}{30} .

           To find:- Value of given expression.

           Solution:-

  • We will take the LCM of the denominators, and make denominators the same.
  • We will Convert the given fractions to equivalent fractions with the denominator as the LCM.
  • Adding the numerators over the denominators.

             \frac{7}{1} +\frac{4}{30} \\\begin{array}{l}=\frac{7 \times 30}{1 \times 30}+\frac{4}{30} \\=\frac{210}{30}+\frac{4}{30} \\=\frac{210+4}{30} \\=\frac{214}{30} \\=\frac{214 \div 2}{30 \div 2} \\=\frac{107}{15}\end{array}

          Hence we will get the value \frac{107}{15} .

To find : sum of rational numbers \frac{7}{1}  and \frac{4}{30}

Solution:

  • As per given condition we write , \frac{7}{1}+\frac{4}{30}
  • To find the sum of given rational numbers we get need to equalize denominators of both the rational numbers. By taking LCM
  • Therefore, LCM = 30
  • Now, multiplying numerators of both rational numbers by same number as multiplied by denominators to make LCM.
  • Therefore, we get, \frac{7}{1}+\frac{4}{30}=\frac{7 \times 30}{30}+\frac{4 \times 1}{30}$

                                                     \begin{array}{l}=\frac{210}{30}+\frac{4}{30} \\=\frac{214}{30} \\= \frac{107}{15} \\= 7.13 \end{array}

Hence, sum of  \frac{7}{1}  and \frac{4}{30}   is \frac{107}{15} or 7.13 .
