 = 7 + 10p  - 8 {p}^{2}  \\  =   - 8{p}^{2}  + 10p + 7 \\  =  - 8{p}^{2}  -  4p   + 14p + 7 \\  =  - 4p(2p + 1) + 7(2p + 1) \\  =  (- 4p + 7) (2p + 1) \\

2p+1=0 or -4p + 7=0

2p=-1 or 4p=7

p =-1/2 or p= 7/4

x+y = -1/2 or x+y = 7/4
