Given:
There is a wall of 360 cm length and 300 cm width
In the middle of a wall, there is a window of 120 cm length and 90 cm width
To find:
Find the cost of painting the wall at the rate of ₹ 60 per square meter.
Solution:
Finding the area of the wall:
Dimensions of the wall:-
Length = 360 cm
Width = 300 cm
∴ Area of the wall = length × width = 360 × 300 = 108000 cm²
Finding the area of the wall:
Dimensions of the window:-
Length = 120 cm
Width = 90 cm
∴ Area of the window = length × width = 120 × 90 = 10800 cm²
Finding the area of the wall to be painted:
Area of the wall to be painted is,
= [Area of the wall] - [Area of the window]
= [108000 cm²] - [10800 cm²]
= 97200 cm²
converting into m²
= 9.72 m²
Finding the cost of painting:
If the cost of painting 1 m² of the wall = Rs. 60
Then,
The cost of painting 9.72 m² of the wall = Rs. 60 × 9.72 m² = Rs. 583.20
Thus, the cost of painting the wall at the rate of ₹ 60 per square meter is → Rs. 583.20.
