7. 40% of the passengers from a bus got down at
station A. 75% of the remaining got down at
station B. If the remaining 12 passengers were
taken to station C, find the original number
of passengers.​

Let x be total no. of passengers present initially.

60% of 25% of x = 12

 \frac{60}{100}  \times  \frac{25}{100}  \times x = 12

x =  \frac{12 \times 100 \times 100}{60 \times 25}

= 80

There were 80 passengers initially.
