Given-

 -   \frac{7}{8}  - ( \frac{ - 5}{6} )

To find -

The value of

 -   \frac{7}{8}  - ( \frac{ - 5}{6} )

Solution -

For addition or substraction of fraction number it is important that all the given fraction had same denominators.

LCM of 8 and 6 is 24.

Multiply 7/8 by 3/3 and 5/6 by 4/4 we get

  = -   \frac{21}{24}  - ( \frac{ - 20}{24} )

When two negative sign multiplied addition occurred.

So,

  = -   \frac{21}{24}  +  \frac{ 20}{24}

 =  \frac{ - 21 + 20}{24}

When there is one negative sign and one positive sign then substraction occurred.

substract 20 from 21 we get

 =  \frac{ - 1}{24}

By dividing 1 by 24 we get

 =  - 0.04

(In decimal)

Hence,

The value of -   \frac{7}{8}  - ( \frac{ - 5}{6} ) is  \frac{ - 1}{24} .
