Answer :

A ball is released from certain height.

We have to find distance covered by ball after 10s.

◈ For a body falling freely under the action of gravity, g is taken positive.

Since, constant acceleration due to gravity acts in downward direction, we can apply equation of kinematics to solve this question. :D

Initial velocity of body in case of free falling motion = zero

Using 2nd equation of kinematics :

➝ H = ut + 1/2(gt²)

➝ H = (0×10) + 1/2(9.8×10²)

➝ H = 0 + 1/2(980)

H = 490m
