Given:-

  • Initial Velocity = 0m/s ( as it was in rest)

  • Acceleration Due to gravity = + 10m/s

  • Time given = 4s.

To Find:-

  • The velocity after 4s

  • Distance travelled by brick during this time.

Formulae used:-

  • v = u + at

  • S = ut + ½ × a × t²

Where,

v = Final Velocity

u = Initial Velocity

a = Acceleration

t = Time.

s = Distance.

Now, Finding the Final Velocity

→ v = u + at

→ v = (0) + 10 × 4

→ v = 0 + 40

→ v = 40m/s

Hence, The Velocity after 4s will be 40m/s

Now, Finding the Distance.

→ S = ut + ½ × a × t²

→ S = (0)(4) + ½ × 10 × (4)²

→ S = 0 + ½ × 10 × 16

→ S = 5 + 16

→ S = 21m

Hence, The brick will cover 21m during this time.
