\pi r ^{2}  = 100......(1)

volume of the solid = 500 cm

\pi r^{2} h + 1 \div 3\pi r ^{2} h = 500

\pi r ^{2} (h + h \div 3) = 500

3 + h \div 3 = 500 \div 100

h \div 3 = 5 - 3

h \div 3 = 2

h = 2 \times 3 = 6cm

total height = 3+6 = 9 cm
