The main differences are-
- Weight is force while mass is amount of quantity
- Being force, weight depends on the gravitational field at a place while mass is independent
- Weighing machine measures mass while weight is measured by spring balance
- Unit of weight is Newton ( N) while that of mass is Kg
- Eg. If a body has a mass of 2Kg on earth..it will be same on moon. But if it's weight is 24 N on earth, it will become 4 N on moon
