Step-by-step explanation:

8. As per continued proportion

b square= ac

b=60,a=48,c=75

(60)^2=48×75

3,600=3,600

[Therefore, LHS=RHS]

Therefore,60,48,60,75 are in continued proportion.

Given :  7 and 11

48, 60 and 75

To Find :  mean proportional of 7 and 11

Show that 48, 60 and 75 are in continued proportion.

Solution:

Mean Proportion of 7 & 11

= √7 * 11

= √77

= 8.77

Continued Proportion

A : B : C

A/B = B/C

B² = AC

48/60  = 4/5

60/75 =  4/5

4/5 = 4/5

48/60 = 60/75

=> 48 , 60 & 75 are in continued proportion
