b) Find the mean proportional of 7 and 11 correct to two decimal places.

Given :  7 and 11

48, 60 and 75

To Find :  mean proportional of 7 and 11

Show that 48, 60 and 75 are in continued proportion.​

Solution:

Mean Proportion of 7 & 11

= √7 * 11

= √77

= 8.77

Continued Proportion

A : B : C  

A/B = B/C  

B² = AC  

48/60  = 4/5

60/75 =  4/5

4/5 = 4/5

48/60 = 60/75

=> 48 , 60 & 75 are in continued proportion
