Answer:

y/3 + 5 = 2y

y/3 = 2y - 5

y = 3(2y - 5)

y = 6y - 15

y + 15 = 6y

15 = 6y - y

15 = 5y

y = 15/5 = 3.

Now try it out with the statement.

A man says," I am thinking of a number (the number is 3) When I divide it by 3  (it becomes 1) and then add 5 (it becomes 6), my answer is twice the number I thought of (6 is 2 times 3 or, twice of 3)

Hope this helped, and hope you got the same answer...
