Given :-

  • A room is 4 m long and 3 m 50 cm wide.

To Find :-

  • The carpet needed to cover the floor of the room in m².

Solution :-

  • The length l is 4m = 400 cm

  • The breadth b is 3 m 50 cm or 300+50 = 350 cm

We, know that a carpet is rectengular in shape .

The area of carpet = Area of rectangle= l × b

➝ 400 × 350

➝ 140000 cm

➝ 140000 / 100 × 100

➝ 14m²

Hence, The carpet needed to cover the floor of the room is 14m² .
