Since, the solid is a cubical shape, it's volume

$= {12}^{3} = {1728cm}^{3}$

Now, volume of the cylindrical wire

$= \pi {r}^{2} h \\ = \pi \times \ \frac{1} {2}^{2} \: \times h$

Since, the solid is melted to form the fire,

$\pi \frac{1} {2}^{2} \: \times h = 1728$
