Answer:

  • It will cost Rs.22000 for making such a tent.

Given:

  • Height of Cylinderal part = 2.1m
  • Diameter of Cylinderal part = 4m
  • Radius of Cylinderal part = 2m
  • Slant Height of Conical part = 2.8m

To Find:

  • Find the area of canvas making the tent. also find the cost of canvas of the tent at the rate of Rs. 500 per m²

Solution:

CSA of Conical part + CSA of cylindrical part = Area of the canvas

➠ πrl + 2πrh

➠ π × 2 × 2.8 × 2π × 2 × 2.1

➠ 2π (2.8 + 2 × 2.1)

➠ 2π (2.8 + 4.2)

➠ 2 × 22/7 × 7

➠ 44m²

Area of canvas used for making the tent is 44 m²

Now, Cost of canvas of tent

  • Cost of 1m² tent = Rs.500
  • Cost of 44m² canvas = 44 × 500 = Rs.22000

It will cost Rs.22000 for making such a tent.

Answer:

I) Radius of base of cylinder , r= 2mm

Height of base of the cylinder , h=2.1 mm

So, the curve surface of the cylinder =2πrh

= 2π×2×2.1 = 4×22/7×2.1. = 26.4 m²

ii) Radius of the continental tent:

r=2m

length = 2.8m

so, curve surface of the cylinder =πrl

=22/7×2×2.8 =17.6 m²

Therefore the total area of the tent = 26.4 +17.6 =44m²

Cost of 1 s.q.m of the canvas is RS 500.

cost of 44 s.q.m of canvas ----

=44×500

= RS. 22,000
