Average speed = 2v1v2 / (v1 + v2)

= 2 * 60 * 80 / (60 + 80)

= 9600 / 140

= 96/14 km/h

Answer:

Average speed of the train…

Explanation:

Now what you give here is the following information:-

S1 (speed of train from A to B) = 60 Km/hr.

S2 (speed of train from B to A) = 80 Km/hr.

You asked to calculate average speed of the train.

Here Average speed is equal to the speed of train in going from A to B and then back from B to A

As we know, Average = S2 + S1 / 2

So, we have 80 + 60 / 2

= 140 km / hr / 2

= 70 km/hr.

So the average speed of the train is 70 km/hr. (keeping in mind that no other factors changed)
