These people as you rightly said are in association with the brutality of their reign the type of government they led is known as a dictatorship. Dictatorship is very different from a democracy which is what most countries follow. In a dictatorship the people have no say in 1) the next elected governor and 2)they have no say in the politics or the political stands the government makes. The ultimate power is with the dictator and no one else. Adolf Hitler was German, Saddam Hussain was Iraqi, Kim Jong Un is North Korean and Fidel Castro was Cuban. The conditions of the people were terrible then but they are terrible even today during Kim Jong un’s rule people are suffering. Take the current virus as an example the North Korean government isn’t helping the people and aren’t even asking for supplies. The people are not allowed to leave the country and everyone is suffering. If you notice there is rarely any news about that country and even the news which is coming are mostly assumptions. The people’s devices are tracked the calls they make the things they search the government can see everything. And I for one don’t think that these conditions are safe or even sustainable.
