Given :- Advait works as a librarian in Bright Children International School in Mumbai. (a) He ordered 336 Mathematics books and 264 Science books for his library on Monday. Each book costs Rs. 150.

To Find :- How much money did he spend on the purchase of these books on Monday ?

Solution :-

→ Total Mathematics books ordered = 336

→ Total Science books ordered = 264

so,

→ Total number of books ordered = 336 + 264 = 600

now,

→ Cost price of each book = Rs.150

then,

→ Total money spend on the purchase of these books on Monday = Total number of books ordered * Cost price of each book = 600 * 150 = Rs.90000

Given :- He further ordered 206 English books and 105 Hindi books on Tuesday. Each book costs Rs.100.

To Find :- (b) How much money did he spend on the purchase of these books on Tuesday ?

(c) How much money did he spend in all for purchasing all the books (including both the days) ?

Solution :-

→ Total English books ordered = 206

→ Total Hindi books ordered = 105

so,

→ Total number of books ordered = 206 + 105 = 311

now,

→ Cost price of each book = Rs.100

then,

→ Total money spend on the purchase of these books on Tuesday = Total number of books ordered * Cost price of each book = 311 * 100 = Rs.31100

therefore,

→ Total money spend on purchasing all the books (including both the days) = 90000 + 31100 = Rs.121100
