In an unprecedented preventative measure, nearly half the worlds population has been
confined to their homes. Even as governmental and non-governmental agencies belle to save
countless lives across the world, a different battle for survival is raging inside looked down
homes.
A week after the assault an announcement of total lockdown, the national commission for
women(NCW) announced that complains of domestic violence received by had more than
doubled in that period.
The complaints were received by the NCW through it's online platform, and can be considered
to be a tip of the iceberg.
8) You are Tanvų Tarun of Safdargunj Development Area, New Delhi. You are extremely
disturbed about the attacks on old people living alone. Write a letter in 100-120 words to
the editor 'The New Indian News' making people sensitive to the problem. Make
suggestions to the people living alone and the authorities to ensure that such attacks do
not take place. (5 Marks)
