Let the cost of chairs be x and the cost of tables be y:

Then we get two equations:

7x + 4y = 7000

5x + 3y = 5080

Solving these two equations we get the value of x = 680 and value of y = 560

➡ Let the cost of a chair be Rs. x and table be Rs. y

According to question :-

\longrightarrow7x+ 4y = 7000 -----1)

\longrightarrow5x + 3y = 5080 ------1)

Multiply by '3' and '4' in equation 1) & 2) respectively.

\longrightarrow 21x + 12y = 21000

\longrightarrow 20x + 12y = 20320

By elimination method, the value of x is 680

put the value of x in eq.1)

\longrightarrow7(680) + 4y = 7000

\longrightarrow 4760 + 4y = 7000

\longrightarrow 4y = 7000- 4760

\longrightarrow 4y = 2240

\longrightarrow y = 560

Thus, the cost of a chair is Rs.680 and the cost of a table is Rs. 560
