Function of Cuspid Valves: The tricuspid valve opens to allow other venous blood which has collected in the right atrium to flow into the right ventricle and it closes off to prevent the blood from flowing back into the Atrium when the ventricle contracts. The blood from the right ventricle is pumped into the lungs where it is oxygenated.

8. Double Circulation: The human circulatory system is a double circulatory system. It has two separate circuits and blood passes through the heart twice: The pulmonary circuit is between the heart and the lungs. The automatic circuit is between the heart and the other organs.
