7. Find the value of p, if the following lines are concurrent.
(1) 3x + 4y = 5, 2x + 3y = 4, px + 4y = 6

Answer:

(1) solve equation 1 and 2

3x+4y=5----*2

2x+3y=4----*3

6x+8y=10

6x+9y=12

subtract the equations

-y=-2

hence y=2

now put in equation 1

3x+4(2)=5

3x=-3

X=-1

put these values in eq 3

px +4y=6

p(-1)+4(2)=6

-p=6-8=-2

hence p=2
