7. Give an account of cotton cultivation in India, under the heads:
a) Temperature, rainfall and irrigation requirements.
b) Soil requirements.

Explanation:

Temperature : Cotton is grown in tropical and sub-tropical areas. It requires at least 210 frost- free days in a year. At the time of harvest the weather should be fine to maintain the lustre of the cotton.

(b) Soil : It grows well in Black and Alluvial soils.
